MetaLocator Privacy Policy

Introduction

Welcome to MetaLocator, a service provided by Fatica Consulting L.L.C. d/b/a MetaLocator (“MetaLocator”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information across our websites, subdomains, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

It applies to:

  1. Visitors – individuals who access our public websites
  2. Customers or Clients – organizations or individuals with a valid MetaLocator license agreement
  3. End Users – individuals whose data may be processed by MetaLocator on behalf of a Client

MetaLocator is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF).

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.


1. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Controller: When MetaLocator determines the purpose and means of processing personal data (for example, managing website analytics, billing, or customer support), we act as a data controller.
  • Processor: When MetaLocator processes Client Data on behalf of a Client, we act as a data processor and follow the Client’s instructions as defined in our Data Processing Agreement (DPA).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Personal details such as your name, email address, billing information, or phone number
  • Data submitted through forms, support requests, or account registration

2.2 Client Data

Clients and Users may upload or store data (“Client Data”) within the Service.
MetaLocator processes this data solely for the purpose of providing and maintaining the Service.
We do not sell, publish, or otherwise disclose Client Data except as necessary to provide the Service.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect technical information such as:

  • IP address, device identifiers, and browser type
  • Pages visited, time spent, and interactions with content
  • Cookie identifiers and analytics data

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our Services. Learn more in our Cookie Disclosure.

2.4 Integrated Services

You may register or connect to our Service through third-party platforms (e.g., Google, Facebook).
When you authorize such integrations, we access the data you permit under their terms. You may revoke access at any time through your third-party account settings.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

MetaLocator processes personal data based on:

  • Performance of a contract – to provide and support the Services
  • Legitimate interests – to improve and secure our Services
  • Consent – for communications and marketing activities
  • Legal obligations – when required to comply with applicable laws

4. How We Use the Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain the Services
  • Improve user experience and develop new features
  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
  • Communicate updates, offers, and promotional messages (you may opt out at any time)
  • Ensure system security and prevent fraud

Client Data is used exclusively for the purpose of providing the Service under the direction of the Client.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

MetaLocator does not sell or rent personal information. We disclose data only as follows:

5.1 Service Providers

We may share limited information with trusted vendors who support our operations (e.g., hosting, analytics, email delivery).
These providers are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.
See Exhibit 2 of our DPA for a current list of subprocessors.

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose data when required by law, in response to valid legal processes, to meet national security or law enforcement requirements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MetaLocator, our Clients, or others.

5.3 Change of Ownership

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal or Client Data may be transferred to the acquiring entity, provided they agree to uphold this Policy.

6. International Data Transfers

MetaLocator participates in and complies with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), the UK Extension to the DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

MetaLocator has certified that it adheres to the DPF Principles regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

MetaLocator is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and remains liable for onward transfers of personal data to third parties that process data on our behalf.

7. Dispute Resolution under the DPF

In compliance with the DPF Principles, MetaLocator commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of personal information.
EU, UK, and Swiss individuals with inquiries or complaints should first contact us at:

MetaLocator has further committed to refer unresolved DPF complaints to the BBB National Programs, an independent, U.S.-based provider. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit:

for more information or to file a complaint. This service is provided free of charge to you.

Under certain conditions, you may invoke binding arbitration for some residual claims not resolved by other redress mechanisms.

8. Your Rights

Individuals in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete their personal data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Request data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

We will also provide an individual opt-out choice, or opt-in for sensitive data, before we share your data with third parties other than our agents, or before we use it for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized.

Requests relating to Client Data should be directed to the relevant Client (data controller).

9. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access.
These include:

  • SSL encryption for data in transit and at rest
  • Access control and authentication measures
  • Secure hosting and monitoring systems

We perform regular staff training on GDPR, HIPAA, and cybersecurity procedures.
MetaLocator is SOC 2 Type 2 Compliant and audited annually by an independent third-party auditor.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including:

  • Closed account data: deleted within 90 days
  • Backups: retained for 90 days (or longer if requested by Client)
  • Billing records: retained for 10 years
  • Legal transaction data: retained for 10 years

Customized data retention periods can be requested by our customers.

11. Minors

Our Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have unintentionally collected data from a child under 18, contact us to request deletion.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of our Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
